This is Joey’s story

Joey

Joey

This is the story of Joey he was found by The Cat Orphanage living on a rubbish tip  just barely surviving and scavenging for any food he could get. As you can see by the first picture of him he is in a very poor state of health he was suffering from malnutrician and severe cat flu he was just hanging onto life. The following pictures show how Joey survived all odds and fought his way back to full health.

After a couple of weeks of TLC you can see Joey is starting to get better he is still not out of the woods just yet but he is getting a little stronger each day. Joeys instincts of survival are shown at every meal time where he would leap up at any food brought into the cattery helping him self to large chunks of chicken and running to a corner protecting it with his life.

Joey after 3 weeks looking much stronger his catflu has almost gone and he is putting on weight.

By now Joeys catflu has gone and he is getting  livelier each day and he has started to groom himself . A good sign that he is getting back to normal.

Still a bit on the skinny side but all that grooming is starting to pay off as you can see his coat is getting much better.

Joey looking much more relaxed its been 7 weeks since he came into the cat orphanage in that sorry state, see how much progress he has made. His coat is in good condition and his tail is nice and fluffy.

This is Joey fully recoved and back to his normal weight, now the only thing that remains to make his journey complete is for him to find a nice home.

Joey still waiting for a home, as you can see Joey spends most of his time at the orphanage being first in the queue at meal times and being quite adept at hoovering up anything that is leftover.

Joey at play when he dosn’t want to come down off the roof then its not wise to force him. Finally after long spell of about 10 months some of which include a period of time in our own home to get him used to it he was offered a new home.

Joeys journey is now complete he is back to full health and is in a new home.

Thanks to the Cat Orphanage thousands of cats and kittens have been rescued and rehomed over the years Joey being just one of many, we can only survive on donations, selling bric a brac and having car boot sales to raise money.
